tuesdays and thursdays i have 80 minute classes. they tend to drag on, so when i get bored i start to mentally photoshop my profs. it's fascinating to me how people age so i start to wonder what they looked like as a kid. a lil erase there. a lil fill here.
i wonder what i'll look like when i'm 30, 40, 50. God-willing, i live that long. i hope that i'll age with grace and dignity. i'd hate to be someone who's forever obsessed with and controlled by how she looks. i don't want to be caking on the make-up. by then i hope i'll have that inner glow of a gentle and quiet spirit. and i hope that when my hair goes grey, my entire head will become snow white not salt and pepperish.
i had a good discussion today with corey on the "the verdict and then some" post. he was questioning whether i was putting God into a box or not. it got me thinking. i have to admit that yes, i committed to the second one for fear of getting hurt. i wonder if i'm josh-harris'ed. maybe i am. actually i know i am. hahaha. i read "i kissed dating goodbye" at a very influential age and right after a very defining "event".
it's so much easier to think that if you go about dating or courtship or whatever the trend it is to call it these days, a certain way, then you'll have a fail-proof marriage, which is exactly what i think. no mess, no fuss, and no break-ups. then my ID training kicks in and reminds me that in reality, life is too complicated for a one-size fits all solution. hence all those least developed countries with the failed structural adjustment plans spawned by the World Bank and the IMF. but i digress. back on the trail, but i think that was the end of my thoughts on the topic. wait no, the world is a funny place. sometimes i get really frustrated that i'd just want to go be a hermit somewhere because things are just too complicated. "ma fan". seriously i can't see how people get together without divine intervention. so glad that God knows what He's doing.
i'm a huge supporter of conflict resolution. communication is good.
can't believe another week's gone. i feel like someone pressed fast forward on my life.
