a lot.
in the middle of march i was struck by how ungracious i am overall. i wasn't quick to extend grace to others nor was i quick to accept grace from God nor did i realize how immensely gracious God was to me nor did i understand how much i needed His grace nor did i grasp just how sufficient His grace is. so i prayed to be more gracious. that should be added to the list of scary prayers.
the past two going on three weeks have taught me about all about grace. about giving it, receiving it, realizing how much i need it, how much God has given it, and how sufficient it is. it's been rough, but it's been worth it. tonight to top it off i really learned just how amazing grace is. i think as a Christian, i've started to take grace for granted and it just became "meh", expected, and the 'norm'. except it's not the norm. it's far far far away from the norm of the world. the world is not gracious. at all.
something happened. i was at fault.
i was expecting grace, but the world is not gracious. it needs grace, and we are the vessels of it as hard as it might be.
I totally know what you mean about not being gracious with others and not accepting God's grace. But recently, I've been learning how to accept God's grace, and consequently I've been finding that I've been enabled to be proportionately gracious to others.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be praying for your Dad. He is blessed to have your grace.
